  • Special emphasis on preparing for advanced training for final surpervised work-education experience and career planning.
  • A course focusing on studies with commercial drivers license (CDL) manuals, practice exams, and driving lessons with trucks (class B).  After successful completion of the course, along with passing the written exam, pretrip inspection, skills test, and road test, students will receive their commercial driver's license.
  • An introductory course covering selected agricultural economics principles and topics.  Includes economic principles applied to agricultural problems; agriculture as a business; resource utilization; production principles; profit maximization; supply and demand; market structures and price determination; finance; and agricultural policy.  Other topics covered are the world food situation; agricultural trade; and the role of agriculture in economic growth.
  • An introduction to the principles of economics including production principles; production costs, supply and revenue; profit maximization; consumption and demand; price elasticity; market price determination; and competitive versus noncompetitive market models.  These principles are applied to agriculture and the role of agriculture in the United States and world economies.  Other topics include a survey of the world food situation; natural, human and capital resources; commodity product marketing; and agricultural problems and policies.
  • Course dealing with agriculture production, food security issues, and development in third-world countries.

  • This course deals with management factors affecting profits in the operations of agbusinesses and agricultural production businesses.  These factors include record keeping, analyzing records, income tax preparation, business financing, depreciaiton, determining insurance needs, and writing lease agreements.
  • A study of the food and agricultural supply marketing systems with their associated sectors and costs.  The problems of price risk management, market information, and government programs is examined.  Emphasis is placed on commodity marketing, current market conditions, price trends, selling alternatives, data base marketing, and sources of market information.
